MAY 8, 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Philanthro Productions to hold debut event at top Hollywood nightclub; proceeds to benefit Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation Los Angeles, CA - When Philanthro Productions hosts its first event at the premiere Spider Club of Avalon Hollywood on June 9th, 2007, the organization will have gone from promising concept to fully operational non-profit in the span of four short months. “It’s hard to believe how much momentum we picked up once we started shopping the idea around,” says co-founder Ian Lee, 25. “Our charity partner, sponsors, advisors and volunteers all jumped at the notion of being able to get people from our generation involved in good causes.” Philanthro Productions was the brainchild of Ian Lee and Andrew Geisse – two young management consultants in the Los Angeles area with years of involvement in non-profits. “We noticed that many of the organizations we volunteered for in the past had a tough time connecting with young people," says Andrew. "The problem is not that our generation doesn’t care: it’s that many young people don’t necessarily know how to focus their time and energy with so many non-profits out there to pick from. People are very busy, and they automatically see charitable activities as a tradeoff for which they must sacrifice free time spent going out, meeting new people, and having fun with friends.” So Ian and Andrew set out to create an organization that allows party-going patrons to contribute to good causes – while permitting partner charities to raise awareness among an elusive demographic. By acting as the promoter for top Hollywood clubs on event nights, Philanthro Productions aims to pack the house with a hip Los Angeles crowd willing to party for and give to charity, as well as learn about how they can stay involved. Corporate and celebrity sponsors will help give each event a unique flavor. Philanthro Productions' leadership team is the first to admit that their approach is non-traditional. “We honestly believe that the sky’s the limit,” declares Ian. “We truly believe that this concept will resonate with the people we’re trying to reach. While our parties will be great ways to define our unique brand and refine our philanthropic model, we have our sights set on even bigger opportunities in the near future once we really generate awareness.” Proceeds from the first event will benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation (EGPAF). EGPAF is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to preventing pediatric HIV infection and to eradicate pediatric AIDS through research, advocacy, and prevention and treatment programs. Philanthro Productions is already expecting a full turnout for the Saturday, June 9 debut event at Spider Club at Avalon Hollywood, CA. About Philanthro Productions (www.philanthroproductions.org):
