PHILANTHRO PRODUCTIONS ROCKS SAN FRANCISCO

Benefiting ROCK SF, Philanthro’s Sophomore Event at ROE

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (June 25 2009)– Philanthro SF kicked off the summer with its second San Francisco event, Recess, a benefit for Real Options for City Kids (ROCK SF) on June 12 at Roe in SoMa. ROCK, Philanthro's non-profit partner and beneficiary, is a San Francisco-based non-profit. The mission of ROCK is to nurture the healthy development of children by listening attentively to their needs and by providing opportunities to those who might not otherwise have access.

The summer event drew 500 young professionals from the San Francisco Bay Area and raised over $7,000 for ROCK. The event featured exclusive media sponsorship with 7x7 and a generous alcohol sponsorship from Le Tourment Vert absinthe. Philanthro transformed each of the three levels of Roe with music by DJ Just, DJ J-Cue and Dex Stakker. The evening also featured a performance by Beatboxer Mike "Eachbox" Tinoco. Professional body painter Robyn Jean also showcased her creative art on the faces and bodies of Philanthro patrons.

The summer event drew in a great crowd and generated buzz about ROCK's mission and work with San Francisco youth. Philanthro Productions is truly excited to contribute to ROCK's local impact and direct involvement in the San Francisco community.

About ROCK SF (www.rocksf.org):
The mission of ROCK is to nurture the healthy development of children by listening attentively to their needs and by providing opportunities to those who might not otherwise have access. ROCK's programs are designed to serve girls and boys ages 6 - 17, who live or attend school in San Francisco's Visitacion Valley. The ROCK vision is to promote the positive development and long-term success of these youth, and this vision is reflected in three overarching program goals. All of ROCK's programs, regardless of activities or settings, are designed to provide opportunities and environments where children learn to connect by building positive relationships with adults and peers, learn to be productive by engaging in positive learning experiences, and learn to navigate through life circumstances by participating in responsible, meaningful activities.
